Event Planning.

As an experiential and event marketing intern at Hawke Media, I was able to first-hand work on the first annual eCommerce Week LA conference —this year set virtually. During this time I communicated directly with speakers about their involvement and any concerns they may have, led research and organization for community based activities, and contributed to ideation for speaker sessions.

Community Event Planning

While eComm Week LA was virtual, there was still a need to create a sense of community for the Zoom audience, which led to creation of the Brand Club slack channel and my first project - the Cocktail Community Clink. For this event I researched and coordinated with virtual mixologists and vendors while simultaneously communicating with eComm Week sponsor “Klaviyo” to ensure the event was what they desired.

Speaker Brainstorms

Throughout my time working on eComm Week LA I was able to sit in on a many of the calls that concerned brainstorming topics and speakers for conference sessions. During these calls I was able to take facilitate anything that had to be done on Hawke Media’s side and also aid in ideation for the content covered in the sessions.

Speaker Communication

Working on eComm Week LA my primary job was to communicate directly with speakers about their sessions and any concerns they may have. Before the event I set up all meetings and run-throughs between the speakers and the Director of Experiential at Hawke Media and during the event I communicated to provide every speaker all social media assets created under the name, resolve any issues they were having with Zoom or Slack, and provide timely warnings for when they are about to speak.

Social Media.

Working with Hawke Media’s Social Media Manager, I was also able to promote the conference itself and the recordings through asset development and SEO. Specifically, I created an Instagram Filter that appeared on the Hawke Media Instagram Page and was used by the speakers to promote their sessions and for the viewers to create a sense of community virtually. I also improved the SEO of the conference recordings by optimizing the tags and videos themselves.
